How do you keep track of your TBR?
Simple answer: Goodreads. I think most people who have book blogs use Goodreads. I'm a fervent user and keep it up to date all the time. I make sure my TBR is complete and all of the books I read go on there.
Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
Surprisingly, my TBR consists of mostly e-books. I don't have a whole lot of money to simply spend on books. Sometimes I splurge and buy a physical book for my TBR but I mostly reserve my money for books I've read and liked so as not to spend a huge amount of money on books I won't enjoy. I'm a picky reader.
How do you decide which book from your TBR to read next?
The eternal struggle of choosing a book to read. I used to take part in book group challenges on Goodreads because they would give me prompts to choose from my TBR. This year is probably the first time I'm not doing that. I added most of my TBR books to a book bingo card so I have some sort of structure but it's mostly to limit my book buying. I can only get a book when I completed a bingo. That's the only sort of system I have going right now. I choose my monthly TBR based on my mood and feelings which is a weird thing for me since I'm not a mood reader. So I definitely struggle with picking my next read.
What is the book that has been on your TBR the longest?
A book that hasn't even been released yet. It's called The Fall Boys and Dizzy in Paradise. It has no real synopsis or cover, but it's by Jandy Nelson who is one of my favourite authors. It's been on my TBR since January 2016. Jandy hasn't come out with a book in a very long time. I'm impatiently waiting. For a book that I can actually pick up and read right now, it's Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake. It's the fourth and final book in the Three Dark Crowns series. It's been on my TBR since November 2018 but it's only been out since September last year.
I'm interpreting TBR as my Goodreads TBR here, but for my physical TBR the answer is different again. Gumiho: Wicked Fox by Kat Cho is the book that's been on my physical TBR the longest, since July 2019.
What is a book I recently added to my TBR?
For my Goodreads TBR, it's This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers since I've read her book Sadie and loved it.
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord is the newest book on my physical TBR. This was random buy because I liked the synopsis so much when I read it in the store. It also has a very cute cover.
What is a book I added to my TBR strictly because of the cover?
The Map from Here to There by Emery Lord. She is one of my favourite authors and I basically read everything by her, but I have to be honest here, I liked the first book in this duology but wasn't blown away. I had no intention of reading this second book until I saw it was also being released in the matching beautiful editions all of her books are in nowadays So... I have to own it.
What is a book on my TBR that I never plan on actually reading?
I wouldn't have a book on my TBR I wasn't planning on reading, but I do have strong doubts about Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman. I liked the prequel and Britt-Marie seemed like an interesting character but I think I might be done with Backman's writing style.
What is an unpublished book on my TBR that I'm excited for?
Wow, there are so many. Most of my Goodreads TBR are books that aren't out yet. It's either The King of Crows by Libba Bray, the final installment in The Diviners.
Or There Will Be Other Summers by Benjamin Alire Sáenz which is the sequel to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe AKA my favourite book ever.
What is a book on my TBR that everyone has read but me?
I recently bought Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. I let the hype guide me. The synopsis didn't grip me, but I haven't heard any bad things about it. I haven't gotten to it yet and I really should since the second book has already come out and I'm falling behind.
What is a book on my TBR that everyone recommends to me?
Not really specifically recommended to me, but I've seen it a lot on booktube. It's The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. This series is massive! So many thick books planned. Especially Reagan from PeruseProject seems to be majorly into this series and she managed to get me excited about it so I'm planning on getting to it ASAP.
What is a book on my TBR that I'm dying to read?
The One by John Marrs, hands down. I've never read a book by him before but every single synopsis of his books sounds amazing. This is the first one that's caught my eye. It's a book about pairing soulmates based on DNA. It follows five different people who just got their match and not everything goes according to plan. I'm probably going to be reading this one during March.
What is the number of books on my TBR?
My physical TBR counts four books right now (I know, shocking number!). My 'actual TBR' on Goodreads which doesn't include unreleased books has 20 books on it. With the unreleased books included I have a total of 35 books on my digital TBR.
What does your TBR look like? Anything like mine or completely different? Let me know!
